NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started conducting the JEE Mains January 23 shift 1 exams. Candidates will be given 3 hours duration from 9 am to 12 noon to attempt the BE, BTech paper 1. Students appearing on the second day of the Joint Entrance Examination Main can check the JEE Main question paper with solutions, memory-based questions from here after the exam concludes.

JEE Main exam has two papers. Paper 1 will test students' knowledge in mathematics, physics, and chemistry subjects for BE and BTech programmes, and paper 2 will have maths, aptitude, and drawing or planning-based questions for BArch and BPlanning programmes.
The NTA will conduct the JEE Main 2025 session 1 exam on January 22, 23, 24, 28, 29 for paper 1 and on January 30 for Paper 2.
Candidates appearing for the exam today should carry their JEE Mains admit card along with a passport-size photograph, any government-authorised photo IDs and duly filled self-declaration form available on the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Candidates are also allowed to carry a transparent water bottle and a transparent ball pen.
On the first day, the NTA rescheduled the JEE Main January 22 shift 1 exam for 114 candidates allotted eTalent exam centre in Peenya Bengaluru, Karnataka. NTA has revised the JEE Main exam pattern for this year. As per the latest JEE Main 2025 exam pattern, the testing agency has removed the optional questions in Section B of both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the JEE Main exam 2025. Candidates will now have to attend all five questions instead of choosing five out of 10. Additionally, it has also introduced a negative marking of -1 for the JEE Main section B questions.
