The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 session 1 is being held on January 22, 23, 24, 28, 29, and 30.

Among the three sections, chemistry was the easiest, followed by Physics, while Maths was more challenging because of its calculation-intensive nature. 

As per students' reactions, the exam was moderately difficult overall. While the Chemistry section was the easiest the Mathematics and Physics were more challenging.

The last date to submit JEE Main 2025 application form was November 22, 2024.

The section covered almost all chapters, with organic chemistry dominating in terms of the number of questions. Inorganic chemistry was well-represented, while physical chemistry featured comparatively fewer questions. Most theoretical questions were directly based on NCERT, ensuring familiarity for the students. However, a few questions were reported to be outside the syllabus, though they were not particularly challenging. Overall, the Chemistry section allowed students to complete it quickly, giving them more time to focus on other sections.

As per Aakash's JEE Main 2025 Jan 23 shift 2 analysis, the physics section was considered easy by most students. While the distribution of questions across topics appeared balanced, certain chapters were missing. Key topics like Mechanics, Waves, and Thermodynamics were covered, but chapters such as Optics and Electromagnetism had a stronger presence. Questions from Modern Physics were fewer in number, and chapters like Alternating Currents (AC), EMI, and Magnetism were underrepresented. There were no questions on instrument-related topics, and topics like Laws of Motion and Elasticity were absent.

According to Ajay Sharma, National Academic Director, Engineering, Aakash Educational Services Limited, the JEE Main 2025 paper conducted on January 23, 2025, in the evening shift was rated as easy to moderate in overall difficulty. Among the three sections, physics was regarded as the easiest, followed by chemistry, while mathematics proved slightly more challenging due to its lengthy calculations in some questions. "The distribution of questions across topics was generally uniform, though a few chapters were notably absent," he added. 

NTA has asked JEE Main 2025 candidates to ensure that the QR Code and the barcode is available on the JEE Main 2025 admit card while downloading. All candidates have been told to bring the photo ID uploaded in JEE Main application form 2025 and mentioned in the JEE Main admit card 2025 for proof of identity. "The candidates are advised to carefully read the subject-specific instructions and other instructions mentioned in the question paper and abide by the same," it added.

Shrey who appeared for the JEE Mains 2025 January 23 shift 2 exam said: "Paper was quite easy. Maths was easy also. There were no technical glitches and teachers helped students get to their rooms." He is aiming to score something between 170-180 marks.

According to Vimal Kumar, a student who appeared for JEE Mains 2025, said the exam was moderate in difficulty level. He said that the Chemistry was the easiest. He is aiming for IIT Guwahati and expects to score 180 marks.

As per Jan 22 shift 1 paper analysis based on candidates' reactions, the chemistry and physics section were easy but mathematics section was a bit lengthy.

The NTA will allow candidates to take bio-break during the conduct of JEE Mains exam 2025. However, biometric attendance and frisking will be done after the break. “Candidates will be frisked and biometric attendance will be taken again on entry from bio- break/toilets break,” the exam day guidelines read. 

"If religion or customs require you to wear specific attire, please visit the Centre early for thorough checking and mandatory frisking," the NTA said in the advisory. 

NTA has scheduled the JEE Mains 2025 session 1 from January 22 to January 30. 

The NTA will conduct the JEE Main paper 2A and paper 2B BArch and BPlanning are also being held twice a year, January and April 2025. For session 1, the JEE Main paper 2 will be held on January 30. The NTA is yet to announce the JEE Main session 2 exam schedule.

Male candidates appearing in the JEE Main session 1 exams are advised not to wear shoes, footwear with thick soles or garments with large buttons. The NTA has also prohibited candidates from wearing cap and scarfs during the exam.

No. It is not mandatory to appear in both JEE Main session 1 and session 2. However, if a candidate chooses to appear in both sessions, then the NTA will consider the best of the JEE Main NTA score while preparing the rank list.

In case you forgot the JEE Main admit card 2025, candidates appearing for JEE Main January 24 shift 1 exam will be able to download their JEE Main 2025 hall ticket through the following official websites.

In the exam day advisory, the NTA asked candidates who have not opted for Aadhaar-authentication to reach the exam centre an hour before the exam timings for recording the biometrics. This verification process is being done to prevent incidents of impersonation. 

Yes. Candidates are allowed to wear jeans or any comfortable dress, which does not have large buttons or metallic items. 

Students will have to carry the following list of documents to the exam centre to be allowed entry.  

• JEE Main admit card 2025
• Duly-filled and signed self-declaration form. 
• Valid photo ID card such as Aadhaar or PAN. 
• Two passport-size photo, same as the one uploaded in application. 
• PwD certificate, if applicable.
• Transparent ball point pen.  

Entry inside the examination centre for JEE Main shift 1 exam today will begins at 7 am. Students with valid JEE Main admit card downloaded from the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, government-issued photo ID card, passport-size photograph, and self-declaration form will be permitted inside the exam venue.

As per the JEE Main January 22 overall paper analysis, students found the day one exam to be 'easy to moderate' in difficulty level. The NTA conducted the BE, BTech paper 1 exams in both shifts. The mathematics section was tough and lengthy, several students claimed, while physics was easier compared to chemistry.   

The JEE Main 2025 is being conducted in two sessions for BTech admissions - January and April. The JEE Main session 1 exams will begin today and will continue till January 30 and JEE Main session 2 exams will commence from April 1 and will end on April 8.

The NTA will allow entry inside the JEE Main exam centre from 7 am for the morning shift. Candidates appearing in JEE Main January 23 shift 1 exams will have to report at the exam centre along with their admit card before 8: 30 am. The shift 1 exams will be held from 9 am to 12 noon, as per the JEE Main exam timings. 

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct the JEE Main January 23 shift 1 and 2 exams for BE, BTech paper 1 today. Around 13 lakh candidates will be appearing for the national-level engineering entrance exam this year.
