Various coaching centres will publish unofficial JEE Mains January 23 answer key 2025 on their website and YouTube channel shortly. Meanwhile, NTA has issued JEE Main admit card 2025 for January 28, 29, and 30 exams.
Some students reported errors in maths and physics sections of the JEE Main 2025 January 23 shift 1 exam. JEE Main exam has two papers. Paper 1 will test students' knowledge in mathematics, physics, and chemistry subjects for BE and BTech programmes, and paper 2 will have maths, aptitude, and drawing or planning-based questions for BArch and BPlanning programmes.

On the first day, the NTA rescheduled the JEE Main January 22 shift 1 exam for 114 candidates allotted eTalent exam centre in Peenya Bengaluru, Karnataka. NTA has revised the JEE Main exam pattern for this year. As per the latest JEE Main 2025 exam pattern, the testing agency has removed the optional questions in Section B of both Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the JEE Main exam 2025. Candidates will now have to attend all five questions instead of choosing five out of 10. Additionally, it has also introduced a negative marking of -1 for the JEE Main section B questions.

The section covered almost all chapters, with organic chemistry dominating in terms of the number of questions. Inorganic chemistry was well-represented, while physical chemistry featured comparatively fewer questions. Most theoretical questions were directly based on NCERT, ensuring familiarity for the students. However, a few questions were reported to be outside the syllabus, though they were not particularly challenging. Overall, the Chemistry section allowed students to complete it quickly, giving them more time to focus on other sections.

As per Aakash's JEE Main 2025 Jan 23 shift 2 analysis, the physics section was considered easy by most students. While the distribution of questions across topics appeared balanced, certain chapters were missing. Key topics like Mechanics, Waves, and Thermodynamics were covered, but chapters such as Optics and Electromagnetism had a stronger presence. Questions from Modern Physics were fewer in number, and chapters like Alternating Currents (AC), EMI, and Magnetism were underrepresented. There were no questions on instrument-related topics, and topics like Laws of Motion and Elasticity were absent.
According to Ajay Sharma, National Academic Director, Engineering, Aakash Educational Services Limited, the JEE Main 2025 paper conducted on January 23, 2025, in the evening shift was rated as easy to moderate in overall difficulty. Among the three sections, physics was regarded as the easiest, followed by chemistry, while mathematics proved slightly more challenging due to its lengthy calculations in some questions. "The distribution of questions across topics was generally uniform, though a few chapters were notably absent," he added.
NTA has asked JEE Main 2025 candidates to ensure that the QR Code and the barcode is available on the JEE Main 2025 admit card while downloading. All candidates have been told to bring the photo ID uploaded in JEE Main application form 2025 and mentioned in the JEE Main admit card 2025 for proof of identity. "The candidates are advised to carefully read the subject-specific instructions and other instructions mentioned in the question paper and abide by the same," it added.

The NTA will allow candidates to take bio-break during the conduct of JEE Mains exam 2025.
