NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 exam date soon. NTA exam calendar 2025 containing the exam date will be issued on the official website of NTA, nta.ac.in.

NTA exam calendar 2025-26 will mention the exam dates and tentative result dates. Other details such as registration date, eligibility, exam pattern, marking scheme, syllabus, admit card date, answer key, result will be notified in the separate JEE Main 2025 information bulletin which will be released on the new official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
In the latest update, NTA has discontinued the optional questions in section B of all JEE Main 2025 papers including paper 1 for BE, BTech and paper 2 for BArch and BPlanning. The exam will be held in two sessions – session 1 and session 2 – and the first session will be administered in January last week.
JEE Main will be held for admission to engineering and architecture programmes offered by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Informational Technology (IIITs) and other government and private institutions.

JEE Main 2025: NIT cut-offs for CSE last year
The National Institutes of Technology (NITs) will admit students to their BTech programmes through the Joint Entrance Examination - Main (JEE Main) 2025. The admission process is conducted by the joint seat allocation authority which also releases institute-wise and course-wise NIT cut-offs for all programmes. Is 75% criteria removed from JEE Main?
No, the eligibility criteria of 75% marks in Class 12 exam has not been removed from JEE Main. Candidates were required to secure at least 75% marks in 12th or be in top 20 percentile to be eligible for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other participating institutions last year. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce changes, if any, to JEE Main eligibility in the JEE Main 2025 information bulletin.

JEE Main 2025 Registration Date: How many registered last year?
A total of 9,24,636 common candidates registered for JEE Main paper 1 (BE, BTech) last year, of which, 8,22,899 appeared for the engineering entrance exam. JEE Main session 1 saw over 12 lakh applicants while 11.79 lakh candidates submitted applications for session 2 in the previous year.

NTA JEE Mains session 1 in January last week
The Joint Entrance Examination - Main (JEE Main) 2025 session 1 will be conducted in the last week of January, according to Goa board which rescheduled state board exams 2025 to avoid clash with the engineering entrance exam. The exam will likely be held in two sessions -- session 1 and session 2. The JEE Main 2025 registration for first session is expected to commence in November.

As per the JEE Main marking scheme, candidates will be awarded four marks for each correct answer. There will be a negative marking and one mark will be deducted for every incorrect response. No marks will be given for questions left unanswered.
