NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced in its latest notification that the registration process for the Joint Entrance Examination - Main (JEE Main 2025) will commence in "due course of time." Additionally, it stated that the option in section B will be discontinued. The JEE Main 2025 session 1 exams are scheduled to take place in the last week of January.

The JEE Mains exam date 2025 is expected to be announced soon by the testing agency along with the NTA exam calendar. The exam calendar will have exam date details of all national-level entrance exams conducted by the NTA, including NEET UG 2024, UGC NET 2024 etc.
During the onset of the COVID 19 pandemics, JEE Main question paper pattern was revised to include the optional section allowing candidates to attempt five out of the 10 questions. It was introduced as a one-time measure considering the pandemic situation.
“Since the declaration of UN World Health Organization (WHO) on the COVID-19 as an end of Public health emergency on 05 May 2023, it has been decided to discontinue the optional selection of questions,” the NTA said. As per the previous JEE Main exam pattern, section B will contain only 5 questions and candidates will have to attend all five questions without any options in paper 1 and 2.

After the JEE Main registration link 2024 is out, candidates will be able to create an account using Digi locker account through the NAD portal, Academic Bank of Credits ID (ABC ID) through the ABC ID, Indian passport number, non-Indian passport number, PAN card number, or Aadhaar.
