JEE Main 2025 registration ends tomorrow; changes introduced in exam this year

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the registration process for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 tomorrow, November 22. Interested and eligible candidates can apply for JEE Mains 2025 session 1 exam through the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in. The first session of JEE Main 2025 exam will be conducted between January 22 and January 31.

As per the JEE Main 2025 eligibility criteria , candidates who have completed their Class 12 or equivalent examination with 75% marks (65% for SC, ST) in physics, mathematics, and chemistry/ biology/ technical vocational subjects. Students appearing in the Class 12 board exam 2025 are also eligible.

NTA will commence the JEE Main 2025 application correction from November 26. The testing agency has also answered the Frequently-Asked Questions ( FAQs ) on exam date, application fee, admit card, and more.

JEE Main 2025: Changes introduced this year

  • JEE Main 2025 new website is jeemain.nta.nic.in
  • NTA has dropped optional questions from section B of both JEE Main papers. Candidates will now have to attend all five questions instead of choosing five out of 10.
  • JEE Main 2025 tie-breaking rule has been changed
  • NTA has dropped age criteria from JEE Mains 2025. Any student can apply for the exam and there is no age limit.
  • NTA has reduced the number of exam cities from 300 to 284 this year. The number of international exam cities has also been cut.

JEE Main exam is conducted twice every year for admission to engineering and architecture programmes at the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other centrally-funded technical institutes. The test also serves as a prerequisite for JEE Advanced held for IITs.

JEE Main 2025 will be held for two papers. Paper 1 will be conducted for BE and BTech programmes while paper 2 is for BArch and BPlanning courses.
