JEE Main 2025 session 2 kicks off today for engineering, architecture aspirants

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will start the second session of the Joint Entrance Examination - Main (JEE Main) 2025 today, April 2 to test students’ eligibility for admission to the undergraduate engineering and architecture programmes. On the first five days, the testing agency will hold the JEE Main 2025 session 2 paper 1 for BE, BTech programmes. The last day of the exam is kept for JEE Main 2025 paper 2A and paper 2B for BArch and BPlanning respectively.

JEE Main session 2 exam 2025 will be conducted in two shifts. Shift 1 will start at 9 am and end at 12 noon whereas shift 2 will take place from 3 pm to 6 pm. Hence, the JEE Main exam duration 2025 will be three hours.

Around 10 lakh candidates are expected to take the JEE Mains 2025 2nd attempt, going by the reports. The exam will be held in a computer-based test (CBT) mode.

JEE Main 2025 exam pattern, marking scheme

JEE Main 2025 question paper will comprise questions on physics, chemistry, and mathematics, divided into two sections – section A and section B. Students must remember that there will be no more optional questions in section B and all five questions will be compulsory. Each section There will be a total of 75 multiple-choice questions carrying a total of 300 marks.

As per the JEE Main 2025 marking scheme, candidates will be awarded four marks for each correct answer. There will be a negative marking of minus one mark for each incorrect response.

JEE Main 2025: Dress code, things to carry

Examinees are advised to report to the examination centre as per JEE Main exam timings 2025 mentioned on the JEE Main admit card 2025. Also, it is mandatory to carry the JEE Main 2025 session 2 admit card along with a photo ID proof and two passport-size photographs to the exam hall.

Candidates should follow the JEE Main dress code 2025 and NTA guidelines. They are not allowed to carry prohibited items such as electronic devices.

Once the JEE Mains 2025 session 2 exams are over, NTA will issue the JEE Main answer key 2025 and JEE Main 2025 result. Based on the JEE Main cut-off 2025, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) will conduct the counselling process for BTech, BArch admissions in the National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), and other participating institutes.
