The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the JEE Main 2026 session 2 Day 5 exam for BPlan and BArch in a single shift from 3 pm to 6:30 pm. Candidates will soon have access to memory-based questions and unofficial answer keys compiled by subject experts and coaching institutes, using which they can calculate their expected JEE Main 2026 scores. The NTA will declare the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 results by April 20 for admission to engineering institutes across the country. Only 2.5 lakh candidates will qualify for the college entrance tests and be eligible for JEE Advanced.

In the JEE Main 2026 Jan session exams 2026, 12 students grabbed top ranks with scores in the 100th percentile.

JEE Mains 2026 April 7 Exam Analysis

As per previous years' trends, JEE BArch and BPlanning are expected to be easy to moderate, with mathematics and Aptitude being relatively scoring, while the drawing and planning sections may take more time.

Mathematics may include algebra, calculus, and coordinate geometry, and aptitude is likely to focus on 3D perception and patterns. The exact and overall analysis will be available only after the JEE Main 2026 April 7 exam concludes.

Top 2.5 lakh aspirants eligible for JEE Advanced 2026

Only the top 2.5 lakh JEE qualified aspirants will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced 2026 exam. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will conduct the JEE Advanced exam on May 17. Paper 1 will be held from 9 am to 12 pm, and paper 2 will be conducted from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.

Only AIR ranks will be used for admissions through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and other engineering colleges across the country.

As per the subject experts, the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 day 4 shift 1 was moderate in difficulty. The Physics section was also moderately lengthy and time-consuming, the analysis report said. 

The Physics paper was easy as compared to Maths and Chemistry. However, it was lengthier than April 2, 4, and 5 papers and easier than January session.

"Most of the questions were lengthy, making the Physics section overall time-consuming," the analysis report said.
