The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the JEE Main 2026 Session 2 Day 4 Shift 1 exam at 9 AM today, and it will continue until 12 noon. Around 11.23 lakh candidates are appearing for the BTech paper. As per subject experts, the April 5 exam was moderate in difficulty, with Mathematics being the toughest, followed by Physics, while Chemistry was the easiest.

Candidates can download their JEE Mains 2026 session 2 day 4 admit card through the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in using login credentials such as application number and password.
The NTA will declare the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 results on April 20 for admission to engineering institutes across the country. Only 2.5 lakh candidates will qualify for the college entrance tests and be eligible for JEE Advanced.
In the JEE Main 2026 Jan session exams 2026, 12 students grabbed top ranks with scores in the 100th percentile.
As per the student reactions, expert opinions and subject matter experts, the JEE Main 2026 April 5 shift 1 and 2 papers were easy to moderate in difficulty. The JEE Main 2026 April 5 evening shift paper was almost similar to the morning, as per the analysis report.
The day 3 exam was overall easy to moderate, with a balanced distribution of questions across all three subjects. The exam followed the recent trend where Mathematics was the most time-consuming, while Chemistry remained the highest scoring. Physics fell in between, offering a mix of direct and conceptual questions.
Only the top 2.5 lakh JEE qualified aspirants will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced 2026 exam. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will conduct the JEE Advanced exam on May 17. Paper 1 will be held from 9 am to 12 pm, and paper 2 will be conducted from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Only AIR ranks will be used for admissions through the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) to NITs, IIITs, CFTIs, and other engineering colleges across the country.
