As per the JEE Main April 6 paper review, the shift 1 exam was moderate in difficulty, while shift 2 was easy to moderate. Based on both shift analyses, students found the Mathematics section the toughest, while Chemistry and Physics were moderate and mostly formula-based. The JEE Main 2026 April 6 evening shift exam was easy to moderate overall. It was easier than the January session and was almost the same as the morning shift on the same day. Chemistry and Physics were easy and mostly based on formulas. However, Mathematics was more difficult because it had lengthy calculations and took more time than the other subjects.
As per the students' reactions, the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 day 4 shift 1 exam was moderate in difficulty level. The morning shift was easier than the January shift of the JEE Mains 2026, the analysis report said.
"The JEE Main 2026 April 6th morning shift paper was a bit challenging compared to the 5th April 2026 paper and compared to earlier shifts. Mathematics was tough and lengthy, Chemistry was doable and based on NCERT, while Physics was calculation-based," the report added.

Top 2.5 lakh aspirants eligible for JEE Advanced 2026
Only the top 2.5 lakh JEE qualified aspirants will be eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced 2026 exam. Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee will conduct the JEE Advanced exam on May 17. Paper 1 will be held from 9 am to 12 pm, and paper 2 will be conducted from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
