Will JEE Main marks change after the final answer key?
The marks from the final answer key will not change, but the final percentile can vary due to the normalisation process.
Here’s how it works:
-
The final answer key fixes your raw marks. These marks will not be altered after the final key is released.
-
However, JEE Main results are declared in percentiles, not raw scores.
-
NTA uses a normalisation process to adjust scores across different shifts, since each shift may have a different difficulty level.
-
Because of this, candidates with similar raw marks in different shifts may get different percentiles.
So, while a candidate's raw marks remain final, the percentile is calculated through normalisation and is what ultimately appears in your result.
February 9, 2026 | 02:11 PM IST
Will the JEE Main result show raw marks or percentile?
The result will be declared in the form of NTA percentiles after normalisation across shifts, and the scorecard will not display the raw marks obtained by candidates.
