JEE Main 2026: IIT Bombay Aerospace Engineering closing ranks fall steadily; course-wise seat matrix

A total of 17,209 candidates opted for IIT Bombay’s AE programme last year, as per the Joint Implementation Committee (JIC) 2025 report.

BTech Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) emerged as the most preferred course at IIT Bombay, with 28,705 candidates opting for it, followed by Electrical Engineering (EE), chosen by 24,123 candidates, as per the JIC 2025 report by IIT Kanpur.
The closing rank for the IIT Bombay CSE programme dropped by 2 points, reaching 66 in 2025, as compared to 2024, under the open category.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 session 1 exams from January 21 to 29 in two shifts, the forenoon shift will be held from 9 am to noon, while the afternoon shift will take place from 3 pm to 6 pm. NTA will soon issue the JEE Main 2026 admit card on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Once the JEE Main 2026 exams are over, JoSAA will conduct counselling for admissions to engineering programmes at top technical institutes in India, including IITs, National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other Government Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs).

For IIT Bombay BTech admissions for the academic year 2025-26, a total of 1,006 seats were offered to candidates, and 51 seats are available for students under the PwBD category.
