JEE Main 2026 Registration: Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2026 applications for the January session exam will close tomorrow, November 27. Eligible candidates can fill out the JEE Main 2026 registration form through the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in.

JEE Main 2026 registration latest updates

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will open the close JEE Main 2026 form correction window on December 1 and 2, to edit candidates' details. The agency highlighted that candidates should fill out their application and exam details carefully, as only a one-time correction facility is available, and no changes will be accepted beyond the designated window.

The agency clarified that the JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam will be conducted from January 21 to 30, while the session 2 exam will be held from April 2 to 9. The test serves as a gateway for admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlanning programmes at Indian Institute of Technology (IITs), National Institute of Technology (NITs), and other engineering institutes.

The NTA will randomly allot the exam date, shift, and slot for JEE Main 2026 through a computer-based system, ensuring fairness and transparency in scheduling. This year, the number of exam cities has increased from 284 to 323, giving candidates more accessible testing locations nationwide.

The steps to register for the JEE Main 2026 are given below.

  • Visit the official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in.
  • Click on the “Apply for JEE Main 2026” link.
  • Register by providing basic details such as name, date of birth, email ID, and mobile number.
  • Verify your email ID and mobile number through the OTP sent by NTA.

What is the duration of the JEE Mains exam?

The JEE Main 2026 exam will take place in two shifts—morning and evening. The morning session will be held from 9 am to 12 pm, and the afternoon session will be conducted from 3 pm to 6 pm. The duration of JEE Main Paper 1 (BE/ B.Tech) and Paper 2A/2B (B.Arch/ B.Planning) is 3 hours for non-PwD candidates, while PwD candidates get an extended duration of 4 hours.
