Try NowNEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 schedule for session 1 exams. As per the NTA schedule, the JEE Main 2025 exam for BTech will be held on January 22, 23, 24, 28, 29, while the BArch exam will be conducted on January 30. The JEE Main admit card date 2025 is January 19. As per the official schedule, the JEE Main 2025 city intimation slip will be out in the first week of January. Candidates will be able to download their JEE city slip 2025 using their application number and password from the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in.
JEE Main Passing Marks 2025: Previous years’ trends
The JEE Main passing marks or qualifying cut-off has been increasing for all categories in previous years. The JEE Main cut-off for General category increased from 88.41 in 2022 to 90.78 in 2023 and further to 93.2362181 in 2024. Similarly, for reserved categories the JEE Main passing marks has shown an increasing cut-off trend. The JEE Main SC cut-off increased from 43.08 in 2022 to 51.98 in 2023 and then to 60.0923182 in 2024. Similarly, the JEE Main passing marks for ST rose from 26.78 in 2022 to 37.23 in 2023 and 46.6975840 in 2024.
JEE Main 2025 passing marks vs admission cut-off
The JEE Main 2025 passing marks are different from JEE Main 2025 cut-off marks for admission. The JEE Main 2025 passing marks refers to the minimum marks that candidates are required to score to be declared pass and qualify for JEE Advanced 2025 exam. The top 2,50,000 JEE Main qualifiers will be eligible to appear for JEE advanced 2025 exam.
JEE Main 2025 admission cut-off is the minimum rank or score required for admission to NITs, IIITs, and other centrally funded technical institutions (CFTIs) under the JoSAA counselling process 2025.
JEE Main 2025 Passing Marks: Determining factors
The passing marks for JEE Main 2025 will be based on several factors such as:
- Number of candidates: Higher number of exam candidates result in higher JEE Main 2025 cut-off.
- Difficulty level of exam: Tougher papers lead to lower passing marks, while easy paper result in higher JEE Main 2025 cut-offs.
- Total seats: The number of seats in NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs impacts the JEE Main 2025 qualifying marks. Less number of seats result in higher JEE Main 2025.
- Candidate category: Different categories have separate qualifying marks. The JEE Main 2025 passing marks for Unreserved categories will be less.
