11.23 lakh to write JEE Mains 2026; NTA reschedules April 5 exams for some, revises Middle East centres

Around 11.23 lakh students are set to appear for the JEE Mains 2026 April session exams. The testing agency has accommodated requests from students in the Middle East by allowing changes to their JEE Main 2026 exam centres due to ongoing conflict in the region. NTA has issued the JEE Main hall ticket 2026 for students appearing for the exams between April 5 and 8. JEE Mains 2026 exams will be held on April 2, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 at 566 exam centres across 304 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.

Moreover, to avoid conflict with the CBSE board 2026 Class 12 exams, NTA has planned their exam dates accordingly. Several JEE aspirants also requested changes in the JEE Mains 2026 exam date due to another exam, which has been approved and considered by the NTA.

JEE Mains 2026 centres equipped with CCTV, jammers

“No candidate should adopt any unfair means, or indulge in any unfair examination practices as the examination centres are under surveillance of CCTV and equipped with Jammers,” the official NTA notice reads.

The testing agency has also installed jammers and CCTV to ensure the smooth functioning of exams. All the centres will be closely monitored using “AI-based video analytics” from the control room at NTA.

The exam conducting body has implemented all security protocols to ensure a transparent and incident-free conduct of session 2 exams.

Students appearing for the exam are advised to carry their JEE Main hall ticket, 2 passport-size photographs and ID proof at the exam centres for verification purposes. Candidates who did not register through Aadhaar must visit the allotted exam centre atleast one hour before the gate closing time to get their biometrics verified and recorded, as per NTA guidelines.
