The testing agency will conduct the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 exams from April 2 to 9 in dual shifts. The morning session will be held from 9:00 am to 12 noon, and the afternoon shift will take place from 3 pm to 6 pm.
As per the eligibility criteria, students who passed Class 12 or hold equivalent exam results from 2024, 2025, or currently appearing, are eligible to appear for the JEE Mains 2026 session 2 exam.

JEE Mains 2026 Session 2 details
Notably, there is no age limit for appearing in the JEE Mains 2026 session 2. Candidates who appeared in the January session of the JEE Mains 2026 can also appear for the April session.
Those planning to re-appear in the JEE Mains 2026 for the April session, should have to register for the computer-based test using the similar login credentials as earlier. The testing agency will consider the best score out of the two for the candidate’s final ranking.
The JEE Mains is conducted for students seeking admission to engineering or BTech, architecture or BArch and planning or BPlan programmes at IITs, NITs, IIITs, and other technical colleges across the country. The JEE Mains 2026 session 2 correction window will be open from February 27 to 28.
The computer-based college entrance test is also a gateway for admission to the Indian Institute of Technology (IITs). Over 13 lakh appeared for the JEE Mains 2026 session 1 exam, held from January 21 to 29. The results for JEE Mains 2026 session 1 were declared on February 16.
Of the total, only 2.5 lakh candidates will qualify in the JEE Mains 2026 and advance to JEE Advanced for admission to IITs.
