Jharkhand State Merit List 2026: BTech counselling registration begins at jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in

Jharkhand BTech Admissions 2026: Candidates having valid JEE Mains score can apply for the counselling process through the official portal by July 2.
The Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has opened registration for Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Mains) 2026 qualified candidates to prepare a state merit list for counselling and admission to BTech, BE, and other programmes. Eligible students can apply for the counselling through the official website at jceceb.jharkhand.gov.in.
Candidates can register for counselling and admission to engineering programmes at various government, deemed and private colleges in Jharkhand by July 2. They will be able to edit their application on July 3, as per the official notification.
The JCECEB will declare the state merit list for admission to BTech admissions on July 5.
Jharkhand JEE Mains 2026 Counselling: Eligibility, application fee
General, Economically Weaker Section (EWS), Backward Classes 1 (BC 1), BC 2 category candidates should have to pay Rs 500 as registration charges for BTech counselling .
Those belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and female candidates can pay Rs 250 as application fee. Notably, there is no registration fee for “divyang of any category.”
Candidates can pay the Jharkhand counselling application fee through payment gateway by credit card, debit card, net banking or UPI.
As per the eligibility criteria, candidate must have passed Class 12 examination with Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Tech, Biology, Informatics Practices, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, Entrepreneurship.
They must have secured at least 45% marks (40% marks in case of candidates belonging to reserved category) in the above subjects taken together or passed DVoc Stream in the same or allied sector.

Jharkhand BTech Admissions 2026: State Merit list on July 5
Most important, the candidate must be a citizen of India and local or permanent resident of Jharkhand. “Local Resident Certificate in proper format, issued by competent authority [Sub Divisional Officer- (Civil) or Dy. Commissioner of Jharkhand State] is required for candidates claiming admission,” the board said.
The Board will prepare the Jharkhand State Merit List 2026 on the basis of the JEE (Main)- 2026 result and the claims made by the candidates in the online application form of JEE (Main)-2026 with respect to category.
“Candidates who fill in a category in the State Merit List application form that differs from the category mentioned in the JEE (Main)-2026 application form will be considered under the unreserved category, except in cases where there is a difference between the Central and State caste lists,” it said.
In such cases, candidates will be considered for the claimed category only after uploading the original caste certificate along with the application form. OBC candidates of JEE (Main)-2026 will be given the option to choose either BC-I or BC-II, it added.
As per the admission policy related to caste-based system, the current reservation policy of Jharkhand govt will be followed for admission in Institutes. Caste certificate in proper format, issued by competent authority is required for candidates claiming reservation.

In addition, according to AICTE, New Delhi, 5% supernumerary seats are available for candidates in each branch. Income certificate of up to Rs 8 lakh, issued by sub divisional Officer- (Civil) or Dy Commissioner of Jharkhand State is required for candidates claiming reservation.
