Jharkhand NMMS 2023 result declared; 1669 students qualify for scholarship

NMMS result 2023: Through this scholarship, qualified candidates can get a Rs 12,000 scholarship, of Rs 1000 each month.
NEW DELHI: Jharkhand Academic Council (JAC) has announced the National Means Merit Scholarship (NMMS) result 2023 and a list of qualified candidates. The highest mark is obtained by Soumik Das Gupta who scored 158. This year 1,669 Class 8 students have qualified while last year, 1,959 students had qualified for the NMMS. To pass the exam, students from the general category need to get 40% while for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates, the passing percentage is 32%.

Jharkhand NMMS is conducted for students of Class 8 who are in government, government aided or local body schools and can apply for this exam under two conditions. The first condition is that they should get the required marks, which is 50% for the general category and 45% for SC and ST categories. Second, the parental income of the candidates should be equal to or less than Rs 3.5 lakhs.

JAC NMMS includes two sections called Mental Ability Test (MAT) and Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT). Each section has 90 questions that need to be solved in 90 minutes.
Through this scholarship, qualified candidates can get a Rs 12,000 scholarship. Each month the government grants an Rs 1,000 scholarship to the students for a year.
The application form for JAC NMMS 2023 was released last year on October 29, 2022. By December 20, all applications were filled after which admit card was provided on January 16, 2023, and the exam was held on January 22. The application form fee is Rs 250 for the general category and Rs 125 for SC and ST categories.
