JSSC CGL 2024 third shift paper leak; former CM demands CBI investigation

The JSSC CGL 2024 general knowledge exam held in the third shift on January 28, 2024, has been cancelled due to a paper leak.

NEW DELHI: The Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has cancelled the paper on one subject, conducted on January 28. According to the notification issued by JSSC, the general knowledge examination conducted in the third shift on January 28 has been cancelled due to a paper leak. The new exam date will be announced soon on the website, jssc.nic.in.

Candidates from Ranchi who appeared in the examinations during the day protested outside the state library main road on Sunday, alleging that answers to paper three (general knowledge and current affairs) has been circulating on WhatsApp groups since Saturday evening.

“As we compared the answers to the content that was circulating on messaging platforms, we were surprised to find a lot of similarities,” an aspirant who took part in the protest, claimed.

The JSSC CGL recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 2,027 vacancies for various posts. Nearly 54,300 aspirants appeared for the examinations across 108 examination centres in Ranchi on January 28, 2024.

JSSC CGL 2024 exam cancelled

The cancellation of the Jharkhand JSSC CGL 2024 exam has serious consequences, both for aspiring applicants and for the state government's reputation. Former chief minister Babulal Marandi, who leads the BJP in the state, has accused the administration of playing with the expectations of young people.

Babulal Marandi has demanded a CBI investigation into the paper leak matter. According to Babulal Marandi, students have released their answer sheets via social media and WhatsApp. “This matter should be investigated by the CBI,” he tweeted on his official X handle.
