NEW DELHI: The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has announced the second extended Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) counselling schedule for admission into engineering, architecture, pharmacy and allied courses. According to the revised KCET round 2 schedule, option entry begins today for candidates who have opted for choice 2 and choice 3, and those who have entered options in both rounds but have not been allotted seats. The KEA UGCET option entry link 2024 has been made available on the official website, cetonline.karnataka.gov.in.
Through the KCET 2nd extended round option entry, candidates will be able to modify, re-order, or “enter the options they want to whether the seats shown in the seat matrix or not, only for the reason that consequential vacancies may arise during allotment process and the candidates will have a chance of getting a better seat if they have entered the options”.
Fresh choices of courses and colleges have to be submitted by candidates who have entered options in the first and second round but have not been allotted seats, those who have not entered choices in the first two rounds, and those who failed to indicate any choice for the allocated seat.
“After the last date prescribed for entry of options for the Second Extended Round / Casual Vacancy Round action will be taken to allot the seats based on Merit and Options entered by the candidates, by following the Roster System and Reservation Policy,” the KEA said.
“Hence, after publication of second extended round seat allotment, candidates should not claim any ignorance on allotment of seats and they should not reject the allotted seat, since the seat is allotted to candidates based on the options entered by them and order of merit,” it added.
Students who wish to surrender their seats allotted in the first two rounds will have to do so by 11 am on October 3 to claim the refund amount after deducting Rs 5,000.
