The Kerala Plus 2 Economics theory paper has a total of 80 marks, while 20 marks are given to students on the basis of internal or project work.
The Class 12 Economics theory paper includes one-mark and two-mark questions worth 8 marks each. Three-mark questions carry 12 marks, while four-mark questions account for 16 marks.
There are also five-mark questions totalling 20 marks and eight-mark long-answer questions worth 16 marks.

Kerala Plus 2 Economics paper pattern 2026
The Kerala Plus 2 Economics paper is divided into Part A and Part B, where Part A has queries on Macroeconomics, and Part B is based on Microeconomics.
As per the passing criteria, the Kerala board uses a grading system to mark the passing status. Students will have to obtain a minimum of 30% marks in theory or a D+ grade to pass the 12th Economics paper.
The authority has advised students to reach 30 minutes early for the examination. No electronic devices such as mobile phones, calculators, or smart watches are allowed inside the examination hall.
