Previously, Pokhriyal had held a webinar on April 27 to address the queries of parents about their children’s education, “academic future”, examinations, teaching methodology, availability of books, mental health and other issues. Parents from dozen of states across India including Jammu and Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Lucknow, Bihar, Odisha had written their questions online on Twitter and Facebook using the hashtag #EducationMinisterGoesLive.
Thanking parents for joining the webinar, the minister had also posted the link to his first webinar on his official Twitter handle for their reference.
The minister is yet to announce the date for the second webinar. The students have already started posting their questions on Twitter. The queries of students from schools and universities center around examinations. Given that the academic sessions ends in March and April in schools and many colleges, they are uncertain about how they would be promoted to next grade and how the examinations would be held.

The webinar for students is aimed at addressing their queries related to the impact of ongoing COVID-19 lockdown and preventive measures being taken to control the spread of coronavirus.
In mid-March, the ministry of human resource and development had shut all the educational institutions in the country to curb the COVID-19 outbreak. All the examinations including board exams and entrance tests were postponed till after the lockdown. Many states have cancelled examinations for Classes 1 to Class 9 and Class 11 and granted automatic promotion to the next class. However, the pending examinations for Class 10 and Class 12 may be conducted after the lockdown is lifted. Many schools and colleges across the country have now resumed education through digital platforms and MHRD has been actively promoting online classes and its digital resources like SwayamPrabha, Yukti, e-pathshala and so on.
