NEW DELHI: As the Covid-19 graph is on the rise once again, the University of Lucknow has asked first-semester undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) students to vacate hostels and return home for their safety.
The official circular issued by Lucknow University registrar Vinod Kumar Singh read, “The decision to send students back home was taken after graduates tested positive for coronavirus and many started showing Covid-19 symptoms like cough, cold and fever.”
The university further announced that the classes will resume in online mode. The first semester Lucknow University UG and PG exams are likely to be held in February 2022.
The university has also asked to start free Covid-19 testing and Covid vaccination camps on its campus for the benefit of the students, teachers and non-teaching staff.
Lucknow University had earlier announced that the exams scheduled to be held on January 14 have been postponed as it falls on public holiday and is rescheduled to January 27.
Amid the surge in Omicron, Covid-19 cases in India, the university closed campus on January 10 and will remain closed till January 16.
