NEW DELHI: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has commenced the National Eligibility Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET PG 2024) registrations for the special stray round. A total of 733 clear vacancies have been notified by the MCC for the NEET PG special stray vacancy counselling. Candidates will have to submit their NEET PG form and fill choices before the deadline through the official website, mcc.nic.in.

The registration link for the MCC NEET PG special stray vacancy round counselling 2024 will be available till March 8. The choice filling and locking option will be available till March 10. The processing of seat allotment will be done between March 10 to 11.
After reviewing the choices submitted by the candidates, the MCC NEET PG special stray vacancy seat allotment results will be declared on March 12 based on the seat availability, cut-off trends, among other factors. Candidates should report at the allotted college before March 20 for document verification.
The counselling committee has also reduced the NEET PG cut-off percentile 2024 to 5th percentile . This decision was taken to ensure that the seats are not left vacant due to non-joining or non-reporting. Notably, the MCC had reduced the NEET PG cut-off 2024 to 15th percentile in January 2025.
Recently, the MCC also announced the seat allotment result for the stray vacancy round of the NEET PG counselling 2024. The result was for the All India Quota (AIQ) seats. More than 2,000 candidates were allotted seats in NEET PG stray round, of which 11 candidates were offered admission under armed forces quota.

NEET PG Counselling 2024: Eligibility for stray vacancy round
The eligibility criteria to register for the special stray vacancy round is given below.
- Candidates who are ‘Not Holding/joined’ any seat in the previous rounds of NEET PG counselling 2024 of All India Quota/state quota/deemed university.
- Candidates having a percentile score of 5% and above (for all categories).
- A candidate already allotted and joined a seat in AIQ/state counselling/deemed university is not eligible.
- A candidate who had been allotted a seat by MCC in AIQ round 3 and stray vacancy round earlier but did not join the allotted seat is not eligible for this round.
- Candidates will be required to fill fresh choices for the special round of counselling.
NEET PG Counselling 2024: Guidelines for candidates
All AIQ registered candidates irrespective of their category are required to pay a refundable security deposit of Rs 50,000 to participate in the special stray vacancy round for exercising choices for government seats.
Candidates registered for deemed universities will have to pay the refundable security deposit of Rs 3,00,000 to exercise choices.
Refundable security deposit of candidates who do not join the seats allotted to them in special stray vacancy round will be forfeited and they will not be eligible to take NEET PG exam for next year.
Candidates who will be allotted seats in special stray vacancy round will have to report at the allotted institute and join the seat with their original documents within stipulated time mentioned in the schedule.
The list of candidates who have been allotted seats in AIQ special stray vacancy round will be shared with state counselling authorities and such candidates will be debarred from taking admission in special stray vacancy round of state counselling.
Candidates participating in special stray vacancy round will have to furnish an undertaking with respect to allotment of seats at the time of choice-filling on MCC portal.
