MCC resumes NEET PG Counselling after brief pause: 540 candidates resign, 117 duplicate seats removed

Use NowAs many as 540 candidates opted for resignation or withdrawal from the NEET PG round 2 counselling, as per the latest official update. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) clarified that the counselling was halted due to three reasons – addition of seats, withdrawal of duplicate seats, and quota changes. After pausing for a brief period, the MCC resumed the NEET PG round 2 choice filling at 4 pm on December 12, and announced that it will close the facility at 1 pm today, December 13. The decision was taken after the addition of 135 new postgraduate medical seats , taking the total available seats to 32,215.
Candidates who wish to edit or change the order of preference are required to complete the selection process by 1 pm and lock their choices.
The revised schedule for NEET PG round 2 counselling, along with the seat allotment result date, will be announced shortly on the official website, mcc.nic.in. Earlier, the MCC NEET PG round 2 seat allotment was scheduled for December 12.
The MCC has instructed all medical colleges that have contributed seats in round 2 to verify the seat matrix before processing the results.
“Any information regarding seat discrepancy/duplicate contribution after seat processing of Round-2, will not be entertained by MCC. Therefore, please check the seat matrix carefully before 01:00 PM of 13.12.2025,” it said.
Based on the details provided by the medical colleges, the MCC has made the following changes - Additions of seats after resignation, withdrawals of seats due to duplication by institutes, and quota changes for AFMS seats.
