Use NowAfter months of uncertainty and repeated delays in NEET PG 2025 admission, the academic session for PG medical courses will finally begin on December 8, as per the state quota counselling schedule published by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). The clarification comes three months after the NEET PG exam was held, bringing relief to nearly 1.38 lakh qualified candidates. NEET PG Counselling 2025 Dates (Out) LIVE
Although the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) declared the NEET PG 2025 results on August 19, the MCC did not issue any update regarding the counselling process. Doctor groups alleged that the counselling was stalled because the NMC had not approved the seat matrix and the Supreme Court was still hearing the transparency pleas.
The Supreme Court, which heard a set of pleas seeking transparency in the NEET PG exam in the previous months, had sought NBEMS’ response and posted the hearing on October 28. The MCC has published the NEET PG counselling schedule for the 50% All India Quota seats as well as state quota seats today, nearly three months after the exam.
Last year, PG medical classes began on December 20. Despite the delay in starting the counselling process, classes will begin slightly earlier this year, on December 8.
As per the admission policy, there will be four rounds of counselling to fill AIQ and state quota. The MCC will conduct the first round of AIQ NEET PG counselling and the state counselling committees will subsequently conduct their round 1, after excluding those who accepted the allotment in the MCC NEET PG counselling.
Several states, including Gujarat , Tamil Nadu, Kerala , Karnataka, and Himachal Pradesh have started the NEET PG registration process for state quota seats. However, the complete schedule was still awaited. Now that the MCC has released the NEET PG counselling schedule, the state-wise dates can be viewed on the respective official websites.
