The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will conduct the MCC NEET UG 2026 counselling for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government colleges in India, and 100% seats of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU), Banaras Hindu University (BHU), and Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI). The state counselling for NEET UG 2026 will be conducted separately for 85% of seats in government colleges and 100% of seats in top private medical colleges in India.
NEET qualified candidates are required to register on MCC website, mcc.nic.in, to participate in the counselling process for allotment of a seat. MCC does not allot any seat either on a nomination basis or manually.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has offered a total of 1,36,939 seats for the MCC NEET UG counselling 2026 process.
According to the MBBS seat matrix, government medical colleges currently have 63,296 seats on offer, while private medical colleges account for 73,643 seats, together reflecting a rise of 9,911 MBBS seats over last year's numbers.
For the 2026-27 academic session, 2,111 seats have been added in government colleges and 7,800 in private colleges.
Among government medical colleges, West Bengal saw the largest increase, adding 325 seats, followed by Chhattisgarh with 250 seats, Andhra Pradesh with 225 seats, and Bihar with 190 seats. For the private colleges, Karnataka led the way with 1,150 additional seats, trailed by Rajasthan with 900 seats, and Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh, which each added 800 seats.

According to the Government of India’s reservation policy, for admission to Central Universities and Institutions and medical college is as follows.
Once the MCC NEET UG counselling seat allotment is published, candidates will have to visit the official website and download the allotment order from the login portal. However, MCC will first publish the provisional allotment result, based on which students will have to submit their grievances, if any. Those who will be shortlisted for NEET UG counselling 2026 round 1 will have to report to allotted college along with required documents to confirm their admission.
