Following pattern, candidates who are allotted a seat must report to the assigned college within the stipulated timeline to complete the admission process, including document verification, fee payment, and confirmation of admission. In round 1, candidates who do not wish to accept the allotted seat can opt for a free exit without any penalty. Those who want to retain their seat or seek an upgrade in subsequent rounds must report to the allotted institute and complete the joining formalities. 

However, candidates allotted a seat in round 2 are generally required to report and join the allotted college. At the time of reporting, candidates must carry the original copies of all required documents along with photocopies for verification.

Reacting to the NEET UG 2026 results, Indian Medical Association (IMA) President Dr Anil Kumar Nayak said the examination was conducted smoothly and the results reflected the successful execution of the process. He noted that over 20 lakh candidates appeared for the exam, which was held at 5,440 centres across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.
