NEW DELHI: The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) result 2024 will be declared on June 10. The state CET cell will announce the engineering and medical entrance exam results on the official website, cetcell.mahacet.org.

MHT CET 2024 final answer key was issued on May 29. Of 5,100 questions asked in the physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology exams, candidates have been awarded full marks for 34 questions as none of the options were correct. Moreover, answer keys of 13 questions have been changed post examination of objections by the moderators. Candidates were allowed to raise objections against the provisional answer key by May 26.

MHT CET 2024 Result: Percentile score calculation

Since the entrance exam was conducted in multiple shifts and students were given different sets of question papers, there might be a difference in the difficulty level of question papers. Thus, a normalisation method will be used to maintain equivalence. As part of the process, the raw marks obtained by the candidates will be converted into percentile scores which are based on the relative performance of all the candidates.

The percentile score of a student will be calculated up to 7 decimal places to avoid bunching effects and to reduce the possibility of ties between two candidates. The percentile score will be calculated as follows:

100 X No of candidates appeared in the session with raw score ≤ candidate’s score/ Total no of candidates in the session

MHT CET Results 2024: Normalisation method

The step-by-step procedure for normalization and preparation of percentile score in MHT CET 2024 is as follows:

Step 1: Distribution of examinees in two days and in two shifts per day.

Candidates who appeared for the exam would be randomly distributed into four sessions so that each session has approximately equal number of candidates. The four sessions would be as follows:

  • Session 1: Day 1 batch 1-1,
  • Session 2: Day 1 batch 2,
  • Session 3: Day 2 batch 1
  • Session 4: Day 2 batch 2

Step 2: Preparation of results for each session.

The MHT CET exam results for each session would be prepared in the form of raw scores and percentile scores separately for each subject.

Step 3: Compilation of CET score

The percentile scores for the total raw score for all the four sessions would be merged and will be called the CET scores which will then be used for compilation of Maharashtra CET results.
