Many candidates compare raw marks after the examination, but admissions in Maharashtra are largely influenced by percentile scores and the overall performance of candidates across different shifts.
Marks vs admission reality
Factor | Importance in Admissions |
Raw Marks | Limited |
Percentile Score | High |
Category | Important |
College Preferences | Important |
Seat Availability | Important |
A candidate with a similar score may receive a different percentile due to the normalisation process. Therefore, students should focus on their percentile and counselling strategy rather than comparing marks alone. Preparing a balanced list of colleges and branches can significantly improve admission prospects during the CAP rounds.
