NEET SS cut-off reduced to 30th percentile; revised qualifying cut-offs announced

The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has reduced the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET SS) 2025 qualifying percentile from 50th to 30th percentile.

The reduction in the NEET SS 2025 qualifying percentile comes from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare following the Supreme Court’s September 17’s order

According to the official notification, candidates securing 30th percentile or above in the NEET SS 2025 question paper groups, have now been considered qualified.

The medical board stated that the revised result has been shared with the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

NEET SS 2025: Cut-offs

The cut-offs for Anesthesiology is 249 of 600, while its 254 for critical care medicine, 247 for ENT, 175 for Medical.

The medical board has also clarified that there will be no change in the question paper group-specific ranks declared on January 23, 2026. No fresh scorecard will be issued following the reduction in the qualifying percentile, the board added.

Candidates’ aggregate marks in all MBBS professional examinations, as provided in their NEET SS 2025 application forms, will be verified against their original credentials as the time of admission by the counselling or admitting authority, it said.

“If at any stage, candidates are found to have resorted to use of any unfair means in the exam, such candidates shall be liable for penal action as deemed appropriate by NBEMS/MCC/Counseling authority. In the event of any such candidates being declared successful in the NEET-SS 2025, the results/candidature of such candidates shall be cancelled and/or are deemed to be cancelled,” the NBEMS added.
