The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) has started registration for NCERT Common Entrance Examination (CEE) 2026 for admission to various undergraduate (UG), and postgraduate (PG) programmes. Interested candidates can apply for the NCERT CEE 2026 through the official website at cee.ncert.gov.in.

The registration window for the computer-based exam - NCERT CEE 2026 will be closed on June 5. The council offers admission to various courses through the CEE such as BEd , MEd, Integrated MScEd, Integrated BEd - MEd, and MA in education technology.

The CBT-based NCERT CEE 2026 will be conducted on June 28. Many institutes such as, RIE Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysuru, Nellore and NERIE Shillong will participate in the admission process.

NCERT CEE 2026: Eligibility for UG, PG programmes

The eligibility criteria vary with different programmes. Candidates seeking admission to MSc Ed, must have passed Class 12 with at least 50% marks, along with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Physics, Chemistry, and Statistics subjects.

Those belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and Persons with Disability (PwD) category must have a minimum of 45% marks. Notably, those who cleared Class 12 or any equivalent examination in 2024, 2025 and appearing are also eligible to apply.

“The qualifying examination should be recognized by the University of Mysore (affiliating University for RIE, Mysuru),” the notice read.

Furthermore, candidates looking forward to admission in 3-year integrated BEd - MEd course should have a PG degree in science, social science, or humanities from a recognised institute with 55% marks or equivalent grades.

SC, ST, and PwD candidates should have 50% to be eligible for the Integrated BEd - MEd programme.

NCERT: Selection process to BEd Programmes

Candidates will be admitted to different programmes on the basis of their scores obtained in the NCERT CEE 2026 entrance exam and aggregate scores from qualifying exams for the particular programme.

Scores obtained in NCERT CEE 2026 carry the highest weightage in the selection process at 60%, whereas aggregate scores from qualifying examination hold a 40% weightage.

While, the eligibility requirement for 2-year BEd programme demands 50% marks in either in the bachelor’s degree and/or in the master’s degree in sciences, social sciences or humanities, bachelor’s in engineering or technology with specialization in science and mathematics with 55% marks or in any other qualification equivalent thereto.

“Candidates who have secured less than 50% marks in their graduation (with a relaxation of 5% for SC, ST, and PwD candidates) but are eligible based on their Master’s degree marks, must submit/enter their graduation marks in the online application form,” as per the notice.

The graduation aggregate marks (all subjects) will be considered for calculating the 40% weightage. In such cases, the graduation marks will be considered for calculation under 40% weightage in the merit list, it added.

Those opting for Master of Education (MEd), should have obtained at least 50% marks or an equivalent grade, whereas only 5% for SC, ST, PwD candidates)

Applicants must also note that there is no restriction in the passing year to apply for BEd, B.Ed - MEd, MEd and MA in Education Technology programmes.
