NCISM has barred 142 ‘on-paper teachers’ across Karnataka, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab for a period of one year

The National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) under the ministry of AYUSH, has barred 142 teachers across 10 Ayurveda colleges after records revealed that the said individuals were appointed as teachers on paper but were not working in the concerned institutions.
Therefore, NCISM has withheld teacher codes for such individuals for a period of one year. Teachers across Karnataka, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab have been barred from their duties till September 3, 2027.
During this period, teachers will not be permitted to serve in any designation, including as part of the hospital staff, in any medical institution under the purview of NCISM.
Moreover, the commission has informed that the names of other faculty members found to be involved in similar violations will be announced soon.

The commission has further directed not to engage or claim the services of the teachers who have been proven to exist ‘on paper’ when applying for permission from MARBISM/NCISM. Such teachers will not be counted as valid faculty for any assessment or approval purposes during the ban period.
“All concerned institutions are, therefore, advised to ensure strict compliance with the above directions. Any deviation or non-compliance shall be viewed seriously and dealt with in accordance with the applicable rules and regulations,” the NCISM order added.
Additionally, any experience claimed, acquired, or shown during the ban period will not be counted towards teaching experience for assessment purposes as per the regulations.
