NEET 2019 Result and Cutoff Analysis; High cutoff marks expected for admissions

New Delhi, June 5: NTA has released the result as well as the qualifying cutoff for NEET 2019. With 1410755 students appearing for the exam and 797042 students qualifying in it, the indications that come from an analysis of the result and qualifying marks are that the admission cutoffs may go higher than last year. With around 66,771 MBBS seats and 27,148 BDS seats, the competition is high. This year the supernumerary seats for EWS category is expected to ease some of the competition with the increase in seats and such. It may be noted that the exact seat matrix has not been released by the authorities.

However, the qualifying cutoff marks have gone higher for each category this year. So what does this translate into for students? A higher cutoff for admissions in spite of the increase in seats for EWS category.

NEET 2019 was conducted on May 5 and May 20 in offline mode. The results were declared on June 5, 2019 and counselling is expected to start tentatively in the third week of June 2019.
