NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) had successfully concluded the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) in pen paper mode on September 13. The exam was conducted at 155 test cities PAN India. There have been massive protests in the past months against authorities conducting NEET 2020 exam amid pandemic. However, despite all the backlash and protests the exam was conducted and NEET 2020 student reactions suggest that the lockdown and postponements turned beneficial for them as they got more time to prepare for the NEET exam day.

The authorities incharge at the examination centres tried all they could to maintain social distancing and followed guidelines mentioned in NTA NEET 2020 COVID-19 advisory. The number of exam centres for NEET 2020 has been increased from 2546 to 3843 in order to provide candidates with the nearest centre. Check below for NEET 2020 pre and post exam updates.

NEET Exam Day Overview

  • The NEET exam timings were 2 to 5 PM, entry closed at 1:30 post which candidates were not allowed entry inside the examination centres. Circles or footsteps were made at the entry gates to follow social distancing norms, temperature checks of candidates were also done.

  • Candidates did not report any anomalies in the NEET question paper.

  • Leading coaching institutes will soon be releasing the unofficial answer key of NEET 2020.

  • The official answer key of NEET is expected to be released in the first week of October, 2020 followed by the result in the second week.

NEET Exam Analysis

While speaking to Careers360 candidates said the question paper was difficult. As for the section wise difficulties Physics was the most difficult section while candidates found Biology section easy. As per students the NEET 2020 cutoff is expected to go high.

Disturbances reported at certain NEET exam centres

It has been reported that at certain exam centres of NEET proper social distancing was not maintained as overcrowding was seen. In Madurai, Tamil Nadu protestors blocked roads by sitting on them in groups demanding postponement of NEET. Some students also reached the exam centre late due to distance and traffic and were denied entry.

NEET 2020 paper leaked

Prior to the exam, reports were doing rounds on the internet that the question paper of NEET was leaked. However, no proof or official announcement came in to prove the same. The reports regarding NEET question paper leak were giving false hopes of postponement and rescheduling of the national level medical entrance examination.
