Solvers are those who impersonate the actual candidate and take an entrance test, in this case it being the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), a qualifying test for MBBS and BDS programmes in medical and dental colleges.

This gang was exposed after the arrest of Julie Kumari, a student of Banaras Hindu University (BHU), who was taking the examination at the place of another student.
Varanasi Police Commissioner A Satish Ganesh said on Monday that this is the first arrest of a candidate in the NEET solver gang case. Gopal Vishwas, a resident of Dhulai district of Tripura, was arrested after getting evidence of his connection with the solver gang, he said.
The Commissioner of Police said that during interrogation, Vishwas has admitted that he had contacted Tripura's Pradipta Bhattacharya and Mrityunjay Devnath to get his daughter admitted to the medical course. The deal was fixed for Rs 50 lakh.
The alleged mastermind behind the NEET 2021 cheating scam, ‘Dr PK’ alias Prem Kumar was arrested on November 19 by the Uttar Pradesh police, as per various media reports. NEET 2021 was conducted on September 12 and reports on NEET paper leak, impersonation started coming to light immediately after the medical entrance exam concluded.
The NEET 2021 question paper was leaked after a youth took a photo using a mobile phone and sent it to two others in Sikar. Following which, rumors of NEET paper leak started circulating on social media. The NTA denied of any security breach, however, while declaring the NEET 2021 results of 15 candidates were cancelled for using 'unfair means' in exam. The question papers have been found in his mobile and Jaipur Police has arrested 8 people including a girl from the examination centre in Rajasthan Institute of Engineering and Technology.
