The National Testing Agency (NTA) will hold NEET 2026 on May 3 for more than 22.79 lakh aspirants. Ahead of the NEET UG 2026 exam, NTA has issued an advisory regarding biometric verification, things to carry and dress code for candidates appearing for the national-level entrance exam. This year, a total of 22,79,743 students have registered for the exam, of whom 13,32,928 are female, and 9,46,815 are male candidates.
NTA NEET UG 2026 exam will be conducted from 2 pm to 5 pm across 522 centres in India and 14 centres abroad. Students are advised to reach their allotted NEET exam centre 2026 at least one hour before the exam begins, as later comers will not be allowed to enter the exam hall after 1:30 pm.

As per the NTA’s advisory, after the completion of the frisking process, students facing any difficulty in biometric verification due to device hardware failure or due to a poor connectivity issue will be permitted to enter the exam room.
However, candidates will have to submit a written undertaking, and the format for the undertaking will be provided at the exam centre. Also, candidates will not be disturbed during the exam period for the biometric process.

NTA has outlined the NEET exam day guidelines 2026 for candidates regarding permitted items and clothing. The things permitted to carry and wear at the exam centre are as follows.
Candidates appearing for the exam must carry their NEET admit card 2026 along with a government-issued ID for verification purposes. NTA NEET hall tickets 2026 are available on the official website, neet.nta.nic.in.
