NEET PG 2022: Supreme Court to hear plea seeking clarity on EWS criteria today

NEET PG 2021 Counselling: Supreme Court will today a plea seeking clarification on the applicability of EWS criteria of Rs 8 lakhs to NEET PG 2022-2023.
New Delhi: Medical aspirants have approached the Supreme Court seeking clarity on the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test postgraduate (NEET PG 2022) information bulletin regarding the applicability of EWS criteria, the Live Law reported. The top court will soon hear the petition.
The Supreme Court, on January 7, had paved the way for starting the stalled NEET-PG 2021 counselling process based on the existing 27% OBC and 10% EWS reservations in the All India Quota seats, saying there is an "urgent need" to begin the admission process.

While the Supreme Court has settled the matter on the 27% OBC quota in NEET UG counselling 2021and NEET PG counselling 2021, it will continue to hear the case on the 10% EWS quota in the third week of March.
“NEET PG 2022 aspirants while challenging clause 8.26 of the Information Bulletin have sought modification of the same to the extent it restricts a candidate for changing the category after online registration on or before February 4, 2022,” as per the report.

The petition further sought relief for allowing the candidates to fill in the EWS category after the deadline, it added.
After the Centre postponed NEET PG 2022, the NBE released the revised schedule. As per the new dates, NEET PG 2022 exam will now be conducted on May 21. Candidates can now apply for the NEET PG 2022 exam till March 25, 2022, at nbe.edu.in.
On February 8, the Supreme Court heard the plea seeking extension of the NEET PG 2022 internship deadline and said it cannot interfere since it's a "policy domain".
Meanwhile, the NEET MDS aspirants have also been demanding postponement stating the internship deadline issue.
In a recent development, the Medical Counselling Committee ( MCC ) directed the states to revise the state NEET UG 2021 Counselling, NEET PG Counselling 2021 dates. The decision comes after the MCC extended the NEET Counselling dates after the Supreme Court order.
