NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court will resume hearing the petition against the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) filed by the NEET PG aspirants seeking disclosure of answer key, transparency in exam. Meanwhile, the NEET PG counselling 2024 is expected to begin today, September 20, through the official website, mcc.nic.in, as per the schedule announced earlier.
The apex court, which heard the matter on September 13 sought response from the NBE in petition seeking disclosure of raw marks secured by candidates, answer key, and result details. A total of 19 NEET PG aspirants have approached the top court and demanded that a facility to apply for revaluation for those who are not satisfied with the results should be made available.
The petitioners further urged the top court to direct NBEMS to issue answer keys from this year on, so as to ensure the transparency in the national-level PG medical entrance exam.
The NEET PG exam date was fixed on August 11 after several revisions and the results were declared on August 23 for over 2.28 lakh registered candidates. As per the NEET PG results 2024, a total of 2,16,094 candidates appeared in the exam and more than two thousand candidates scored above 99 percentile. The inflation in ranks made aspirants doubt the normalisation method used by the board. The NBE announced that it will adopt the normalisation process followed by AIIMS for conducting exams such as INI CET.
However, dissatisfied with the results, candidates have been demanding for raw marks scored by all candidates and also the cut-offs.
