NEET PG Counselling 2021: RML resident doctors boycott services today in protest against delay

Download nowNEW DELHI: Resident doctors of Dr Ram Manhor Lal hospital will boycott all routine services from today in protest against the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG counselling 2021 delay. NEET PG Counselling 2021 hearing on EWS, OBC reservation is scheduled for November 6, 2021.

According to the ANI report, an official communique of the RML hospital said, “Resident doctors have been waiting patiently for some positive outcome of the Supreme Court proceedings in the matter of the already delayed NEET PG Counselling, however, there seems no respite to their physical and mental distress, with the next hearing scheduled on November 6.”
The RML hospital in a recent circular said that the junior resident cannot participate in the NEET PG counselling delay protest as they are appointed on contract basis and said that they will be taking “disciplinary action” against those participating in the protest.
“All junior residents who are appointed on contract basis are informed that they cannot indulge themselves nor participate in any strike activity. Non observance of the rules attracts disciplinary action as deemed fit. This issue with the approval of Medical Superintendent,” the circular read.
On November 26, the Federation of Resident Doctors’ Association (FORDA) called for a nationwide withdrawal of Out Patient Department (OPD) services from November 27, onwards due to repeated delays.
The NEET PG counselling 2021 process which was scheduled to begin on October 25 was put on hold after a section of students moved the Supreme Court challenging the introduction of EWS, OBC reservation.
