Candidates who will be participating in round two of MCC NEET PG 2024 counselling must note that there is no option of ‘free exit’ in the second round of counselling. If a candidate does not secure their NEET PG admission 2024 in the college, seat allotted during round two, their refundable security deposit will be forfeited.

If a candidate who has been allotted a seat in the first round of MCC NEET PG 2024 counselling is satisfied with the allotted seat, they can report to the allotted institute and secure their seat by paying the tuition fee.

The seat allotted in the first round of MCC NEET PG counselling 2024 is cancelled if a candidate does not report to the allotted institute within the stipulated time. Such an option is referred to as ‘free exit.’

The seats offered for postgraduate medical seats through MCC NEET PG counselling include:

• Universities established by an Act of State

• Universities established by municipal bodies trusts, society or company

NEET PG 2024 counselling will be four rounds: Round 1 and Round 2, the mop up round and a stray vacancy round will be conducted by MCC.

Candidates will have the following options after the MCC NEET PG 2024 seat allotment:

Option 1: Automatic Seat Cancellation

If a candidate does not report to the allocated institute within the specified timeframe during Round 1 of NEET PG counselling 2024, their seat will be automatically cancelled, which is referred to as a 'free exit.'

Option 2: Seat Acceptance

Candidates who are satisfied with their Round 1 allotment must report to the assigned college within the designated time to confirm their seat.

Option 3: Upgradation Option

Candidates who are dissatisfied with their allotment may apply for seat upgradation in Round 2. If no upgrade occurs, their initial seat will remain secure.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced that candidates who participate in the Stray Round or Special Stray Vacancy Round of NEET PG Counselling 2023 and are allocated a seat but fail to report to the assigned college will be barred from participating in NEET PG Counselling 2024.

The following medical institutions are exempt from the centralized admissions process for MD (Doctor of Medicine)/MS (Master of Surgery) seats through NEET PG for the 2024-25 session:

• Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh
• Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research (JIPMER), Puducherry

• Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology, Trivandrum

As NEET PG conducted in multiple sessions, the difficulty levels of the exam versions can differ. Normalization is employed to manage this variability, ensuring a standardized method for evaluating candidates' performances. Below is an overview of the normalization process.
