NEW DELHI: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has reopened the application window for postgraduate medical aspirants to change their nationality from Indian to Non-Resident Indian (NRI) for the National Eligibility Entrance Test - Postgraduate (NEET) PG counselling 2024. Those candidates who are claiming to be NRI can apply for nationality conversion by November 2.
“Candidates who are claiming to be NRI as per the directions or orders of the Supreme Court of India, should send their relevant documents in support of their claim to change nationality from Indian to NRI through email nri.adgmemcc1@gmail.com from 5 pm of November 1, 2024 till 5 pm of November 2, 2024,” said MCC in the official notification.
Those who had sent their documents earlier and have been converted to NRI are not required to send their documents again.
MCC clarified that the conversion of candidates’ nationality is provisional based on the documents submitted by the candidates which will be verified by the allotted college authorities at the time of reporting and the Embassy Certificate from the sponsor may be sent to the Ministry of External Affairs or respective High Commissions for verification. If the documents are found to be fake, the provisional allotment of candidates may be cancelled and legal action might be initiated by the competent authority.
