Use NowNEW DELHI : Rajasthan and Maharashtra have postponed the seat allotment result of the third round of National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET PG) counselling 2024 for different reasons. Earlier today, the Supreme Court dismissed the plea to cancel the round 3 allotments under the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) NEET PG counselling, giving a green light to further admission processes.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Medical Education (DMGE), Uttar Pradesh has extended the last date for candidates to report to the allotted institutes till February 10, 2025.
Several candidates had demanded fresh NEET PG round 3 counselling 2024 , alleging seat blocking by state quota aspirants especially after the continuous delay in Madhya Pradesh NEET PG counselling 2024. Aspirants have been facing the heat of court cases and lack of synchronisation between the All India Quota (AIQ) and state quota counselling this year. MCC has already extended the counselling schedule a few times in view of lowering of NEET PG cut-off and representations made by participants.
Odisha recently deferred the round 3 counselling without giving any specific reason. On the other hand, the mop-up round of Karnataka NEET PG counselling has been extended. Karnataka High Court cancelled the seats allotted to students having AIQ allotments, asking MCC to let such candidates join by extending the reporting period. The seats exited by such aspirants will be used in stray vacancy round of state candidates.
Rajasthan NEET PG counselling
“In view of the joining date extended by MCC for round 3 of All India Counseling, declaration of result for round 3 of state NEET PG counselling is hereby postponed till further notice,” says the official website of counselling board. As per the counselling dates, the third round seat allotment list was scheduled to be issued on February 5.
Maharashtra NEET PG counselling
The Common Entrance Test (CET) cell, Maharashtra said, “Due to update in in-service candidate data by DHS on February 5, 2025, the selection list for CAP-3 is postponed till further notice.” The CET cell had already revised Maharashtra NEET PG round 3 counselling dates as per which the provisional selection list was due for February 6.
