NEET paper leak, suicide, general elections
The students group said: “Despite concrete evidence and arrests made by state police forces, the NTA has deliberately ignored these leaks, suggesting collusion within the organization. An unprecedented and statistically improbable 67 students scored a perfect 720/720.
“At a single examination center in Haryana, 8 students scored above 718 marks, with 6 achieving 720/720, indicating blatant manipulation of results”.
Citing the “premature” declaration of NEET results on June 4 coinciding with the general election result announcement, AISU stated that it “appears to be a deliberate attempt to divert public attention from the irregularities and corruption within the ΝΤΑ. The cut-off marks have seen an unprecedented and inexplicable increase, causing undue stress and hardship to genuine candidates”.
“Arrests related to solver gangs from multiple locations, including Patna, Delhi, and Gujarat, indicate a widespread network of cheating, severely compromising the examination's integrity,” it said.
So far, around 13 people in connection with the NEET paper leak 2024 case have been arrested. The Economic Offences Unit (EOU) identified Sanjiv Singh as the mastermind behind the leak. However, the NTA has denied the allegations of paper leak and other irregularities.
The NEET-related suicide cases are also on rise. A total of 11 NEET aspirants have died by suicide this year.
IMA Junior Doctors demand CBI inquiry
The IMA Junior Doctors have also pointed out the discrepancies in NEET UG results 2024 and said that the clarification issued by the NTA is not satisfactory.
“Some students have scored 718 and 719 marks, which is statistically questionable. There has been no defined logic for the grace marks given to these students. No list has been shared as per given grace marks to students,” it said.
Further, the junior doctors asked why no action has not been taken on the NEET paper leak case. It also opined that the provision for grace marks due to time loss should have been disclosed in the information bulletin before the exam.
“Why National Testing Agency has came up with the new rule after the examination? Many students received different marks on their scorecards compared to their OMR sheets. These discrepancies were not due to grace marks, as these students were not from the centres where grace marks were purportedly given,” it said.
