NEET SS Counselling 2025: Decision follows Delhi High Court order allowing petitioners to re-register and participate in round 2 process.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended the resignation window for candidates allotted seats in round 1 of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Super Speciality (NEET SS) 2025 counselling till August 7, 4 pm, following a direction from the Delhi High Court. The committee has also announced that NEET SS round 2 registration and choice filling will resume from August 9, 10 am, as per the revised counselling schedule.
The decision comes after the Delhi High Court, in its order dated August 5, 2026, in Writ Petition (C) No. 11097/2026, Sunil and Anr vs Medical Counselling Committee, allowed the petitioner candidates to re-register and participate in round 2 of the NEET SS 2025 counselling.
The MCC said in its notification, "In the light of the Hon'ble Delhi High Court order dated August 5, the Hon'ble Court has allowed the petitioner candidates to re-register and participate in round 02 of the NEET SS 2025 counselling.”

Keeping in view the court's observations, the competent authority has withdrawn its notification dated August 3, 2026, with immediate effect. The committee said the NEET SS round 1 resignation portal will remain open for all candidates till 4 pm on August 7, while the revised counselling schedule is available on the MCC website.
The revised NEET SS counselling schedule was announced by the MCC after it withdrew its earlier notification.

The MCC has directed all participating institutes and colleges to treat Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays as working days to ensure that the counselling schedule is completed within the stipulated timeline.
Candidates have been advised to check the revised counselling schedule and complete the NEET SS round 2 registration, choice filling, and reporting process within the prescribed deadlines.
