Why was NEET SS counselling 2025 delayed?
NEET SS counselling 2025 was delayed due to a legal dispute and a review petition regarding 151 vacant super-specialty seats in Tamil Nadu; therefore, MCC paused the choice filling and locking process until further notice.
As a result, several doctor groups and students urged MCC to announce a clear timeline for the counselling process, flagging that the delay is causing mental stress among students.
MCC later added the 153 vacant in-service seats from Tamil Nadu to the round 2 seat matrix following a Supreme Court order. A total of 2,423 DM, MCh, DNB super speciality seats were offered for NEET SS round 2 admission.
