MCC adds 33 vacant in-service seats from Tamil Nadu to All India SS Counselling 2025 seat matrix
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has rescheduled the special stray vacancy round of All India Super Speciality (SS) Counselling 2025 after 33 vacant in-service seats from Tamil Nadu were added to the seat matrix. As per the revised schedule, candidates participating in the Special Stray Vacancy Round can complete registration and payment today, September 29.
According to the MCC notice, the Tamil Nadu state selection committee reverted 33 vacant in-service seats on September 28 after conducting its state stray vacancy round for in-service seats. These seats will now be included in the seat matrix for the Special Stray Vacancy Round of All India SS Counselling 2025 .
The revised NEET SS 2025 special stray vacancy round schedule allows candidates to complete registration by 5 pm today, September 29, 2026, while the payment facility will remain open until 7 pm. The NEET SS counselling choice filling will be available until 12 noon on September 30, while choice locking will begin at 8 pm on September 29 and continue until 12 noon on September 30.

Steps to do NEET SS 2025 choice locking
Candidates can lock their choices by following these steps
- Visit the official MCC website and log in to the NEET SS counselling portal.
- Open the Choice Filling/Choice Locking section.
- Review the course and college choices entered in order of preference.
- Make any required changes before locking the choices.
- Click on ‘Lock Choices’ and confirm the submission.
- Save or take a printout of the locked choices for future reference.
For the current Special Stray Vacancy Round, the MCC notice says choice locking will be available from 8 PM on September 29 to 12 noon on September 30, 2026.
The MCC said the schedule was extended in compliance with the September 17, 2026 Supreme Court order in W.P. (Civil) No. 771 of 2026, Tamil Nadu Medical Officers Association & Anr Vs. Union of India & Ors.
Following the Tamil Nadu state stray vacancy round for in-service seats, 33 seats remained vacant. The state selection committee reverted these seats on September 28, after which they were added to the NEET SS seat matrix for the Special Stray Vacancy Round of All India SS Counselling 2025.
