NEW DELHI: With five months left for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test - undergraduate, Class 12 students have ample time to prepare for the exam as per the updated NMC NEET UG 2024 syllabus. This year, the National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the NEET UG exam date 2024 well in advance. As per the exam calendar, the NEET 2024 exam will be held on May 5.

Class 12 students who wish to pursue MBBS, BDS and other undergraduate medical courses will have to appear in the NEET exam 2024 to be eligible for admission. MBBS is the most sought after course after Class 12. Around 20 lakh students registered for the NEET exam last year.
NEET is also one of the toughest entrance exams and the syllabus for the exam is published by the National Medical Commission (NMC). NEET biology paper will have questions from botany and zoology sections. As per the paper pattern, the exam will be conducted for a duration of 3 hours and 20 minutes in pen and paper mode.
The exam will have 200 questions carrying a maximum of 720 marks. For every correct answer, 4 marks will be granted and for every wrong answer one mark will be deducted. Zero marks will be given for unanswered questions.
