Try NowNEW DELHI: 259 candidates at a centre scored above 600 marks out of 720 in NEET UG 2024, shows a quick glance through the NEET 2024 result data. The National Testing Agency (NTA) today released the city and centre-wise National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) results 2024 following the directions of the Supreme Court in the ongoing NEET case.

Gujarat, which hosts the centre with such a large number of 600+ scorers, is among the states at the heart of arrests made by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in connection with the alleged NEET paper leak case. Other states which landed in the NEET controversy include Bihar, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Haryana; Bihar's Patna being the city with the highest number of arrests including those of solver-gang members, students, and parents.
NEET Result 2024: Quick data analysis
An initial closer look into the performance of candidates, who took the NEET UG exam at the centres which were found involved in the alleged NEET scam , is given below.
Jharkhand
- The highest NEET UG 2024 score at Oasis School in Hazaribagh , Jharkhand, whose principal has been arrested in connection to the alleged NEET paper leak case, is 696. A total of 701 candidates wrote the entrance exam of whom 22 scored 600 marks or above in the NEET UG re-exam 2024.
Haryana
- A school in Jhajjar – S R Century Public School – saw 388 examinees. Of these, as many as 14 candidates have scored over 650 marks. 14 students scored above 650 marks. Candidates with serial number 254 got 686 marks while another with serial number 255 scored 653.
- At Hardayal Public School, which came into limelight over a question paper mix-up, two candidates have scored over 650 - one scored 677 and the other 682. This is the same centre which hosted as many as six NEET 2024 toppers, leading to a controversy.
- An X (formerly Twitter) user, Tanish Bhayana, observed that 75 candidates who sat for the exam at DAV Police Public School, Hisar, scored more than 600 marks.
Rajasthan
- According to doctor and activist Vivek Pandey, a NEET exam centre in Sikar – Aravali Public School, witnessed 83 candidates scoring over 600 marks. Notably, Sikar is a budding coaching centre for NEET. Whereas, in Vidya Bharati Public School, right emerged as 700+ scorers.
- At exam center Mangal Chand Didwaniya Vidya Mandir, four students grabbed more than 700 marks, 45 scored above 650 marks, 92 students exceeded 600 marks, and 200 managed to score over 500 marks. Andaman NEET UG 2024 topper Yogta Kumari Yadav took the exam from this very centre.
- An MBBS student, Abhishek Gupta, was caught impersonating a NEET aspirant at the Master Adityendra School, Bharatpur, Rajasthan examination centre.

Gujarat
- Among candidates who appeared for the exam at School of Engineering, RK University, Rajkot, 12 scored more than 700 marks. One scored 720, two got 710, four received 705, one got 704, one with 701, and three with 700.
- Moreover, as many as 259 aspirants scored more than 600 marks while 110 students managed to score above 650 marks in the exam. 48 candidates also cleared the exam with over 680 marks.
Bihar
- At AN College in Patna, 29 students scored above 650 while at Holy Mission Secondary School, 21 were 650+ scores and two secured 700 marks.
- The number of students scoring more than 650 at RPS Girls Public School is 20 while one scored 700 marks.
- At another centre, RPS Residential School, 21 were amongst the 650 plus scorers and one with 700 score.
Maharashtra
- In Latur, where two teachers were arrested by CBI in relation to cheating and impersonation in exchange for money, the Dayanand Colelge of Commerce centre saw one candidate with 700 scores and 16 with more than 650 marks.
- On the other hand, one examinee at the Maharashtra Junior College, Nilanga, Latur scored 700 marks while 18 were 650+ scores.
- Three candidates at Rajarshi Shahu Junior Science College grabbed 700 marks and 13 scored above 650 in the medical entrance exam.
NEET Controversy
SC is expected to announce its final verdict on the NEET petitions for cancellation of exam and conduct of retest for all aspirants. The exam held on May 5 for around 24 lakh candidates was marred with controversies over allegations of paper leak, unfair grace marks, cheating, and alleged irregularities. The top court cancelled the results of over 1,500 candidates who comprised NEET UG toppers 2024 and a retest was held later. While the issue of grace marks has been settled, the fight over paper leak and irregularities is still underway.
