NESTS to organise two-day Principals’ Conclave for 499 Ekalvya residential schools on December 16, 17

The National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) will organise a two-day Principal’s Conclave for Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) on December 16 and 17. The event aims at strengthening the academic, administrative, financial, and leadership capabilities of principals of EMRS across the country.

Around 499 principals of Eklavya schools will take part in the Principals’ Conclave at Dr Ambedkar International Centre (DAIC), New Delhi.

The objective of the conclave is to equip principals with the latest knowledge, procedural clarity and leadership competencies aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) and the strategic priorities of NESTS.

The principals will also be briefed upon ongoing projects, flagship initiatives and partner-supported programmes being implemented in EMRSs.

Safety measures, school performance review on discussion list

The overall objective of the conclave is to ensure that the principals are aware of the objectives, significance and outcomes of these initiatives, enabling their timely, effective and uniform implementation at the grassroots level.

“The conclave also seeks to address the observed gaps in awareness among Principals regarding several academic, digital, cultural, health and capacity-building initiatives undertaken by NESTS in collaboration with national institutions and expert organisations,” as per the official press release.

The discussions at the Principals’ Conclave 2025 will include wide range of student-centric themes, including academic reforms, CBSE’s two-examination system, lesson planning, classroom processes, strategies for improving student learning outcomes, mental health and emotional well-being, TALASH, Bharat Scouts and Guides, Kaushalaya, language proficiency, and structured mechanisms for supporting underprivileged students, the release added.

“Administrative and human resource-related topics such as APAR, probation clearance, National Pension System (NPS), safety measures and school performance review will also be discussed in detail,” it said.

Officials from NESTS, subject experts from the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), and other specialists will be part of the event.

They will be discussing policy-level norms, technical inputs and practical solutions to address school management challenges.
