A total of 597 students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) cleared the Joint Entrance Examination Mains (JEE Main), JEE Advanced, and NEET exams in 2024-25, where Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh (MP) leading the list with 288 NEET qualifiers alone.

Out of 230 EMRS schools offering Class 12 studies, 101 students have successfully cleared the college entrance tests.
According to the government data, Telangana, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh have the highest number of EMRS students qualifying JEE Main in 2024-25. Whereas, Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand recorded the lowest number of qualifiers for the engineering entrance test.
For JEE Advanced, Telangana and MP produced the most qualifiers in the 2024-25 academic cycle.
In addition, a total of 344 students from Eklavya schools cleared the NEET entrance test last year, with Gujarat and MP leading the race. However, six states did not have a single EMRS student qualifying for NEET last year.
The EMRS were established by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs to provide quality education to Scheduled Tribe (ST) students, offering access to opportunities in higher and professional education, and secure employment in various sectors.
Currently, there are 485 functional EMRS schools in the country with 1.38 lakh students enrolled in 2024-25. Overall, 722 schools are sanctioned and Rs 68,418 lakh released for the schools.
Where Eklavya students from Gujarat, MP and Telangana lead in college entrance exam qualifiers, UP, UK and Himachal lag behind with the lowest numbers.
