Download NowThe National Testing Agency (NTA) has once again extended the registration deadline for the National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination (NIFTEE 2026) until January 16. Candidates can apply for the NIFT entrance exam 2026 on the official website, exams.nta.nic.in/niftee, and pay the application fee by January 17.

As per the revised schedule, the NIFTEE 2026 application form correction window will open on January 20. Candidates will be allowed to edit the form by January 21.
Initially, the last date for NIFT entrance exam 2026 registration was January 6; however, it was later extended to January 13.

To complete the NIFT registration, general category candidates will have to pay an application fee of Rs 3,000, while Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), and female candidates will have to pay Rs 750.
For the single-paper option, the NTA has set the application fee at Rs 2,000 for Open, OBC-NCL, and EWS candidates, while SC, ST, and PwD candidates need to pay Rs 500.
Candidates who miss the NIFT application deadline can still apply from January 17 to 19 by paying the regular fee plus a late fee of Rs 5,000.
For NIFT 2026, the NTA has added two new exam cities —Vapi in Gujarat and Daman in the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu—taking the total number of exam cities to 102.
NIFTEE 2026: Selection process
Admission to the Bachelor of Design (BDes) and Bachelor of Fashion Technology (BFTech) will be based on scores in the General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT), followed by a situation test.
For PG programmes, a personal interview is held instead of a situation test for the final selection.
For PhD admissions, candidates are required to take a written test, followed by a Research Proposal Presentation and Interview (RPPI).
