NEW DELHI: The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has issued a set of guidelines for the NIFT admissions 2023 seat allocation process on the official website- nift.ac.in. Candidates that have qualified the NIFT entrance exam on February 5, 2023 can check the documents required and rules to follow for the allocation.

The institute has advised candidates to choose maximum number of preferences while filling campus and course preferences at the time of registration for seat allocation. "Carefully analyze available options based on your CMR while choosing your course and campus preferences. Previous years' opening & closing cut-off ranks are available on the NIFT seat allocation portal for candidates' reference," read a NIFT notice.

Candidates must check the NIFT provisional seat allotment letter after each round of allocation and pay the seat acceptance fee online to secure their seat. Candidates can also exercise the 'upgrade' or 'slide' or 'freeze' option. The 'freeze' options must not be selected if the candidate is waiting for allotment of a campus or course of higher precedence in any subsequent round.

NIFT Admissions 2023: Seats available, candidate preference

NIFT informs that only the campuses and courses that have been selected by the candidate will be taken into consideration. Even if there are vacant seats in other campuses, candidates that haven not applied for that campus will not be given an admission there. This rule applies even if the candidate otherwise qualifies based on the merit list.

For those that are eligible for the Kashmiri quota, the institute has asked such candidates to fill in preference at NIFT Srinagar. "Do remember unfilled EWS, OBC, Domicile seats may be available for open category candidates in subsequent rounds," added the notice. Candidates are advised to check and fill in preferences for academic programmes in their domicile campus if eligible.
